to the passenger side of the center console to the back is the control unit and i think a relay as well not sure how easy it is to get too with the dash in. Piece of cake with the dash out lol. could be that or the motor burned out that you get too under the bonnet take of the center air scoop.

is the motor not located under the bonnet behind the ram air intake?

Don't think the fan is too hard to work on, had a go at one on a Previa doubt there's much difference apart from the rust on a Previa

Just thought I'd post an update, the bus is still going strong and I managed to track down the heater problem to the blower so I replaced that and its sorted. Kernowman how much for filters? Need to get a service one, Also any volunteers to help with a cambelt? where is the best place to get a cambelt kit at a reasonable price?

id do the timing with you but you would need to get to Scotland. only go for Toyota with the belt. its not often you need to change the tensioner but i suppose it would be good to have one as a back up. mine was fine when i done it spinning nice and free
