happened to me in an escort. the only warning i had was when i had no brakes had to pump the peddle to pull the wheel back on before i could stop. whole hub had to be replaced.

Had same.. no brakes when I drove it onto trailer yesterday... now at mine ready for parts & repair when I get back from Weymouth.  Undecided
