electric window motor help pls
« on: February 20, 2010, 03:00:07 PM »

hi guys still having trouble with electric window motor on my townace. i've tried to remove old one today but when i tried the glass slid down and everything almost fell into the bottom of the door. i managed to put the bolts back in that hold the motor etc in place but when i try to push the glass back up it won't budge, i've tried loosening the bolts but it doesnt make any difference and now my window is nearly half open not good in this weather ! anyone got any suggestions cos all i can think of is to get a piece of perspex and tape it into the gap somehow  Sad

You may have to manually turn the motor, or window regulator one way or another to get it back to the top or bottom:

Could be stuck in the guides.. they are felt covered rubber and may have deformed when you pushed the window back up.
Only way is to lower it and check the are in the door frame correctly and gently slide glass back up.

Use a black bag ..cut down one side and slide it over top of door with slit on inside.. with masking tape , tape it in place along the bottom on the outside of door and where you can on inside.
Not ideal but will keep water out til you fix it.  Wink
