help townie won't start
« on: September 16, 2010, 12:40:44 PM »

hoping someone can help me here. i popped to shop in the townie yesterday and just as i pulled up the drive it ran out of diesel, i went and fetched £15 of diesel and put it in but it wouldn't start then it suddenly dawned on me i have no glow plug light showing on dash, i don't have any others either apart from oil light and the brake pad wear light, the red exclamation mark. have checked fuses and they all seem fine have checked for loose wires although i don't really know what i'm looking at with regard to what ones go to the glow plugs. i'm a bit stumped really anyone got any ideas pls ?

did you pump the priming pump on the fuel system. when you put the diesel in If you compleatly run out of fuel there will be air trapped in the system and you need to push the pump till it goes hard
